MANY ADDITIONAL FORMAL CITY OF KEY WEST MESSAGES AND NOTICES IN OUR CRISIS INFORMATION CENTER AT THE END OF THIS ISSUE

Vice Mayor Sam Kaufman and Mayor Teri Johnston joined with the entire City Commission to commend the city’s first responders for their dedication during the current health emergency.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Key West has relied upon first responders to protect the well-being of all members of the Key West community,” reads the proclamation. “Members of the Key West Police Department, the Key West Fire Department and Key West Code Compliance Department have provided selfless service in the interests of preserving public health.”
The officials noted that first responders, at substantial personal risk, have diligently worked to crush the curve and to aid individuals and families that are facing health challenges.
“Frontline officers and emergency personnel continue to demonstrate professionalism and dedication,” it reads, “always putting the health and safety of the people of Key West first.”
In the photo: Vice Mayor Sam Kaufman, Fire Chief Alan Averette, Commissioner Clayton Lopez, Police Chief Sean Brandenburg, Code Compliance Director Jim Young, Commissioner Gregory Davila, Mayor Teri Johnston and Commissioner Billy Wardlow are joined by rescue workers, police officers and code compliance officers for the commission’s commendation.

A SUN FACE

Above a garage door this school of fish live

On another house, this school of fish lives above the front entry.

A nice place to take a rest and watch the street from. But we couldn't decide what the purple cone in the background was for?
And this separate school next to the garage door
The weirdest looking papayas I've ever seen. Hope they fill in more.
Now this is a papaya I recognize.

It's a rare white pelican. I've only ever seen them in the winter up by Homossassa.

And the association has a little free library. nice.

Have an old wheelbarrow - make a great planter for your front yard.

The Photos in this Issue and the next few start just one of Hundreds of Groovy History Features Called "67 PHOTOS THAT CAPTURED WAY MORE THEN EXPECTED by Jacob Shelton. Here is the Link to AL 67 Photos with Verbiage in case you can't wait for the next few weeks / Issues.

source: pinterest An international object of desire, Mata Hari was a dancer, a spy, and everyone who knows about her casts her in a different light. She’s been described as a courtesan, a feminist, an espionage wannabe, and a victim of the military’s need to create an enemy.
Regardless of how she was seen at the time, Mata Hari had a need to live a life constantly on fire. She threw herself towards excitement, which was her undoing in the end. Ted Brandsen, the choreographer and the director of the National Ballet explainedWhat fascinated us is the story of a woman with an incredible lust for life and a powerful instinct to survive, and to reinvent herself and to transform herself. She had a lot of horrible things happen to her and she managed to somehow give a spin to it and find her way out.
America faced one of its lowest lows on October 29, 1929 when Wall Street investors traded nearly 16 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange, losing billions of dollars and breaking thousands of investors in one day.
Black Tuesday was the final day of a six day anarchic whirlwind at the Stock Exchange with investment bankers attempting to stabilize the market by buying massive blocks of stock. On Tuesday, stock prices completely collapsed.
This nadir of the Stock Exchange didn’t just wipe out the coffers of investors, it caused the industrialized world to spiral out of control, pushing the United States into the Great Depression.

This photo that rocked the world is one of the most well known shots of the creation of a Frenemy that Hollywood has ever birthed. With Sophia Loren’s head perched directly next to Jayne Mansfield’s hefty chest, it looks like Mansfield crashed a party that Loren didn’t even know was happening.
In actuality this shot was snapped at a Paramount party in Beverly Hills that was meant to celebrate Loren landing stateside in 1957. While seated next to Clifton Webb, Loren was bombarded with Mansfield’s assets as they spilled across the table.
It’s most likely that this photo was a publicity stunt for Mansfield, but Loren got quite a bit out of the shot as well. Afterwards, Loren admits that she wasn’t able to take her eyes off of Mansfield, and even though she’s often asked to autograph prints of the photo she always declines.

ANNA SWEET EXHIBITION NOW AT EFFUSION ART GALLERY KW

EFFUSION GALLERY 701 Duval St.
305-735-4345 WWW.EFFUSION.COM

Anna Sweet’s work marries a craftsman’s approach to material with an Art Nouveau influence. Known for her luminous underwater nudes, Sweet portrays the ethereal through harmonious modes of painting and photography. By employing radiant minerals and pigments, the artist reimagines familiar elements of nature and the female form, rendering them brilliantly new to the viewer’s eye.
Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, above her mother’s art gallery, Sweet and her nine siblings were immersed in the art world from a young age. Perennially inspired by the light of the sun and the movement of the body, Sweet’s hand evokes the dynamic sensuality of beauty in motion, capturing transient moments of swim or dance.
Revealing the sensuality and elegance of women throughout the most exotic waters of the world. Sweet engages minerals like mica, diamond dust, and glass on the image, Sweet’s mixed-medium approach offers an otherworldly experience. Sweet’s work mimics elements of her shooting environments and creates “effects like the glisten that occurs when the sun kisses the sea.” The photographic images and encased materials coalesce into a stunning, seemingly three dimensional representation of the subject. The subjects in this series are radiant displays of female beauty.

Effusion Gallery is happy to offer two unique collections from artist Anna Sweet.

Anna's 'Babes' collection feature underwater photographs that reveal the sensuality and elegance of women throughout the most exotic waters of the world. All pieces are limited edition, available in multiple sizes and are enhanced with mineral and resin elements.

Inspired by real life beaches, her 'Waves' collection feature several mediums that come together creating an almost photorealistic view of the sea from above. Each piece is made by hand, customizable and one of a kind.

Dear Friends and Readers,

Our board of directors met last week and made the unanimous, sensible, and very sad decision to postpone "A Seminar Named Desire" for one year. It will now take place January 6–9, 2022. We are in the process of reconfirming the roster of presenters, and it appears that all will be able to join us for the new dates, along with others to be named later.

This will be the first January in nearly 40 years without the seminar. For me and for many of us here, it is the center around which the rest of the year turns. But it has become increasingly clear that it is not possible to hold the seminar during a pandemic, which, by all likelihood, will still be with us in January. It will be strange for the seminar not to be there — as so much about our lives is strange now.

As of now, the workshop program is still scheduled to take place in January. The smaller numbers of people involved leave us some room for optimism that it could be held safely come January, and we will continue to evaluate this over the next several weeks.

Thank you for your support of the Seminar during this time, and always,

Arlo Haskell | Executive Director
A Few Weeks ago Hugh Peche sent me a link to a Music Video . It was one of a Series of 'PLAYING FOR CHANGE" -Join The Movement". THESE ARE BRILLIANT VIDEOS . It takes Classic Rock Compositions and Insures that the Original Tune is well Respected in the Updated Rendition ; especially since every Video that is made will have the Lead Singer /Band Member/s Featured in the Production (If Still Around). The Production will Record many Musicians ALL OVER THE WORLD . Here are just 6 of perhaps 30 to 40 VIDEOS in their Catalog.
