New Date February 10 6:30PM
It's time to howl at the moon again with Southernmost Slow Ride! February Full Moon is known as the Snow Moon so let's dress in our Snowy best! We are meeting at the end of White Street Pier, by the Compass, at 6:30pm. The sun sets at 6:18pm if you want to arrive early. Come catch the sunset and howl at the moon with us or at least have fun riding and socializing. All ages and abilities are welcome! Meet us out at White Street Pier and we normally meet at the end of the pier. We start gathering at at 6:00pm and ride out at 6:30pm Routes are TBA.

Please bring, install, and use as many lights on your bike as possible. Regular bike lights, decorative bike lights, wheel lights, glow sticks, novelty light-up glasses and hats and ties and boas, and anything lights up or glows and is safe to ride with! If you have any bike-mounted music, you can bring that too. We will have tunes playing from a couple of our bikes. Don't have that stuff? You can still come and ride.

NOTE: Ride at your own risk. No road closures, no escorts, only informal marshaling-a mellow ride with friends you know and some you haven't met yet. We will "take the lane" and own the road at times, but we will also get in single file or pull over to allow backed-up cars to pass, so please follow the marshals and the general vibe of the group.

FLORIDA KEYS COUNCIL OF THE ARTS BUILDING (GATO CUBAN CIGAR FACTORY) 1100 SIMONTON ST.

Curator Alaen Ledesma Fernandez Opens
Reception Feb 7 at the Roberto Russell Gallery at Ocean Sotheby's Int. Realty 81888 Overseas Hwy. Islamorada
The Corpus collective exhibition brings together the work of five Cuban painters who focus their visual discourse on the human body.  From different expressions, the body is the protagonist of his works, and with this the inquiry about his particular rituals of representation and understanding of beauty.
Using figuration as an artistic expression and evoking a universe of individual symbols, they bring the viewer closer to their particular stories while proposing routes of inquiry about the human condition, the balance between pain and hope and the complexity of life experience.
The works of Capdevilla, Nodarse, Guzmán and the binomial Sandra and Enmanuel reveal five different ways of transcending the limits between the corporal and the spiritual, of externalizing the harmony between the internal sphere and the universal space, while seducing contemplation and  They encourage reflection.
Curated by Alaen Ledesma Fernandez and Supported by The Florida Keys Council of the Arts , Ocean Sotherby's International Realty and Latin American art magazine.

Tennessee Williams Museum first-Sunday curator tour series continues
The Tennessee Williams Museum, located at 513 Truman Avenue, will offer the second in a three-part series of tours led by Museum Curator Dennis Beaver on Sunday, February 2 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. The tour will focus on the playwright's controversial death, an event covered extensively by the global media which raised questions as to whether the 71-year-old's death was suicide, choking, or murder, as was believed by Williams' brother. This tour will provide the most recent findings as well as archives exhibited in the museum.
The award-winning museum is already a destination for Tennessee Williams enthusiasts and scholars.  It houses an impressive collection of Williams' memorabilia and literary artifacts that underscore the importance of his legacy and the impact the literary icon made during his long career. Displays include artist Jane Rohrschneider-Carper's model of the playwright's Duncan Street home, a place he lived from 1949 to 1983, first edition plays and books, images from the late local photographer Don Pinder, and a new collection of photographs featuring Williams and celebrities of his era, many of whom were featured in his film and theater productions. Key West Art & Historical Society honors locals the first Sunday of every month with free admission to the museum and three other properties under its stewardship-the Custom House Museum, Key West Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters, and Fort East Martello Museum. The next Tennessee Williams Museum curator tour will be from 2:00pm - 3:00pm on Sunday, March 1, the official kick-off date of the month-long Tennessee Williams Birthday Celebration that features a series of arts and cultural events set to take place at multiple Key West venues.
The Tennessee Williams Museum on 513 Truman Avenue is open for self-guided tours from 9:30am-4:30pm daily. For more information, contact Key West Art & Historical Society at 305-295-6616 or visit WWW.KWAHS.ORG.  Your Museums.  Your Community.  It Takes an Island.

Key West Police Chief Sean Brandenburg, during an awards ceremony Friday, named Mary Canalejo as Civilian Employee of the Year for 2019 as well as Civilian Employee of the Second Quarter, honoring her for her 52 years of service to the City of Key West.
Canalejo started in 1968 as secretary to the flamboyant and now infamous Fire Chief Joseph "Bum" Farto, whose disappearance in 1975 -- after a conviction for selling drugs -- has become Key West legend.
Canalejo transferred to the police department long before the scandal, however. She has served under 11 chiefs of police. During her tenure, she has been named employee of the year and has earned and received numerous awards and recognitions.
"Mary's extensive historical knowledge is an invaluable asset," said Brandenburg. "She comes to work with an attitude and work ethic as if it were her first day. She does so with great professionalism and a great sense of humor. It is not often that you see an employee who is so dedicated to an organization that they will give over 50 years of their life."
The award is sponsored by Keys Federal Credit Union. Marketing Director Marylou Carn was on hand to present officer Leahy a check for $500 in recognition of his outstanding service.

The below Site has Past and Current Issues of The Keys Blast from Ed Krane & Friends
Gracy sends regards and tells us : This website was created to make easier to event goers to find times and dates. Companies can save time and always have updated/available events available to them and their customers. They don't have to search every local news paper to find what they need. They have ready and combined information on one calendar. It's also online and therefore very convenient. Most people are digital nowadays. Another selling point is that the calendar of events will provide useful information that can be used for scheduling. Any company who is having a special event can look at the global calendar and avoid clashing times/dates with other organizations. This also allows them to attract more people to their events by scheduling their own events when other organizations aren't scheduled.
