Our 2023 Art Auction features original paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry and more. Collectors can choose from works of celebrated and renowned local masters to fresh new emerging talents. This year we are honored to have two stunning pieces at auction from Key West master artists Jack Baron and Sal Salinero. Participating artists receive 50% of proceeds from the sale of their work. The other 50% goes to fund grants for projects by local artists in the visual, performance and literary arts. This non-profit organization was founded by Key West art patron Anne McKee, and has awarded more than $330,000 to over 400 artists since 1994. “Think of all the galleries, exhibition openings, artist talks that make our community so culturally rich. That only happens if together we support our art makers.” - Kalo Clarke, Past President of the Board of Directors.

“two for two” OPENING AT JAG
Jag Gallery welcomes the return of two of Key West’s most popular and celebrated artists, John Martini and Carol Munder for “two for two”, an exhibit featuring new works in steel and on paper opening on Thursday, March 23rd.
The internationally recognized John Martini arrives with a collection of his signature polychrome and steel sculptures along with new monoprints, accomplished during his annual, month’s long migration to his home and studio at Veuxhaulles-Sur-Aube, France.
Carol Munder, who has been seen in solo and group exhibitions throughout the US and in Europe, shares a new series of photogravures, painstakingly printed using traditional process on a gravure press purchased decades ago, at the Emma Street studio she shares with Martini. Of this 19th Century technique, Munder says, “I find personal satisfaction working in this traditional way and chose this process knowing that it will add another layer of ambiguity to an already mysterious image”
John and Carol are both featured in an upcoming installment of the South Florida PBS produced, Emmy Award winning series ART LOFT, showcasing the best of South Florida’s art scene airing March 21st at 7: 30 PM on WPBT2
Meet the artists and learn more about their inspired new works at a gallery reception on Thursday March, 23rd from 5-8 which is free and open to the public. The exhibit continues through April 11th.

Forever a Key West barroom entertainer at heart, Ben finds that audiences like his take on unusual characters and history as much as he does. Throughout the late 70s into the late 90s, he played music nightly on the famous Duval Street, where—rather than covering the usual barroom standards of the time—he performed original songs with a wry twist, which established him as one of Key West’s most popular musicians.
Ben has been a guest on The Howard Stern Show, This American Life, Dr. Demento, The Dick Cavett Show and more. Winner of the Adeline Turner Award for Outstanding Performing Artist, he has recorded ten studio albums and recently debuted his fourth full-length musical, “El Isleño 1921: The Untold Key West Story”, on stage at Key West’s Fringe Theater.
"After writing the music for ten studio albums and four musicals, the profound mystery of song—lyrics and melody—is still as befuddling as the cosmos. What makes us laugh, cry, or just tap our fingers on the steering wheel, is the ultimate puzzle. My goal is to help make music and songwriting approachable (regardless of instrumental skill level or musical background) with personal fulfillment and enjoyment at the forefront. There are a lot of ‘how things work’ tips that I look forward to sharing.”

Key West Southernmost Runners Club is teaming up with the Conch Republic Marine Army for the 25th Annual EarthDay 5K Run/Walk race in Key West on Earth Day -- April 22nd, 2023. The new venue is the Truman Key West Waterfront Park, at the end of Southard Street in Key West. The Registration and Start/Finish line is right near the US Coast Guard Cutter Ingham Maritime Museum. Proceeds from the race go to the Conch Republic Marine Army, a local non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to cleaning and restoring the shallow mangrove habitats of the Florida Keys. www.conchrepublicmarinearmy.org Registration is $25 per person, children under 5 are free with a parent.
