Hyper-realist artist Adam Scott Rote's paintings are always in a state of evolution. He has earned the distinguished accolade of being the most collaborated fine artist with Academy Award and legendary performers than any living or passed artist in the world.

As he imagines and paints, the work inherently changes. Fine Art that was once available becomes a thing of the past and Art Connoisseurs jump at the opportunity to add to their collection before it is gone. We only have these currently available Art Installations in the gallery and these will not be replaced. Adam is once again in a collaborative stage with another Legendary performer Film Composer Danny Elfman, stay tuned this fall for first reveals! So if there is one that you love that is currently on our walls, now is the time.

The Original Paintings are co-signed by the respective Hollywood Legends (please feel free to inquire about their availability), from there Adam creates one-of-a-kind Uniques. The installations we have are all unique mixed media paintings and Adam Scott Rote personally hand-carves all of the wood Love, Movie and, Music Reels. Last week in our July 13 Issue We had a Feature from MOTE Releasing 2 Sea Turtles names "Hookee" and "Joyce" . Here is Info. on another Sea Turtle Release named "JT"

Today, an adult, male loggerhead sea turtle, nicknamed "JT", will be released back into the Gulf of Mexico, after successful recovery at Mote's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital. JT will be outfitted with a satellite tag by Mote's Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program.

Additional Information:
On April 4, 2020, a member of the public reported an entangled sea turtle to Mote's 24/7 Stranding Investigations Program hotline. Due to a line from a crab trap being severely embedded in the turtle's neck and wrapped around its front flippers, Mote's team brought the turtle to Mote's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital, with assistance from Sarasota Police Department.

Upon arrival, it was obvious that the turtle, a loggerhead nicknamed JT, was a male due to its size and obvious tail. In rehabilitation, JT quickly began eating and was put on an antibiotic for his wounds. Read more about JT's case at mote.org/hospital

JT is a good candidate for a satellite tag, and will be given a tag prior to being released by Mote's Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program. Male sea turtles do not return to land after they leave the beach as hatchlings, unless they are injured or sick. Therefore, they are a more elusive group to study. By satellite tagging adult male loggerheads that stranded and received hospital care, scientists can learn more about post-release behavior of rehabilitated turtles as well as behavior, habitat, home range and migratory pathways of adult male loggerheads in the Gulf of Mexico. After release, follow JT's track at mote.org/seaturtletracking
If you see a distressed or deceased sea turtle, manatee, dolphin or whale in Sarasota or Manatee counties, report it to trained responders immediately. Contact Mote’s Stranding Investigations Program via their 24-hour hotline at 941-988-0212. Below are additional tips:
  • When calling, be ready to provide a thorough description of the animal, its behaviors, and the location.
  • Take photos and video if possible.
  • Never attempt to rescue or push back any animal in distress.
  • For other Florida counties, call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC's) Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922.
  • In the southeastern U.S., call 877-WHALE-HELP (877-942-5343).
Mote's sea turtle activities are conducted under FWC Marine Turtle Permits 027, 054, 070, 048, 028, and 216.

'Get Smart's Agent 86, The Original Man Who Knew Too Little

Barbara Feldon and Don Adams as agent 99 and Maxwell Smart in a scene from Get Smart the TV series. Source: Getty Images / Bettmann
On Get Smart, Maxwell Smart was Agent 86, a bumbling secret agent of CONTROL who was constantly trying to foil the efforts of the evil organization KAOS. Smart, played by Don Adams, was a witless James Bond, lucky to have a fully competent partner in Agent 99 (Barbara Feldon), whose professionalism and preparedness helped Smart foil the bad guys even though he usually didn't deserve to.
The television series Get Smart and Maxwell Smart were the clever creation of two very funny guys: Mel Brooks and Buck Henry. The pair was approached by Daniel Melnick, of Talent Associates, Ltd., to create a show with a satirical twist to capitalize on, "the two biggest things in the entertainment world today." Melnick was referring to James Bond and Inspector Clouseau (from the Pink Panther movies, played by Peter Sellers) who were both popular in the 1960’s. Brooks and Henry were up for the challenge and the show hit the air in 1965, running for 5 seasons. Brooks would of course go on to great fame as an actor/writer/director, beginning with The Producers (1967). And Henry would become a famous screenwriter, beginning with The Graduate (1967) and a frequent host of Saturday Night Live.

Awesome Foundation $1000 Grant Will Fund Photo-Book for COVID-19 Relief

The Awesome Foundation Key West chapter recently presented a $1000.00 grant to Roberta DePiero and Carol Tedesco to support publishing of a limited edition commemorative photo-book of images shot by 25 area photographers during the “COVID-19 Spring,” taken when the Keys underwent an unprecedented months-long shutdown. Sales of the book will benefit Sister Season Fund’s COVID-19 relief efforts on behalf of workers in tourist related industries including entertainment, hospitality, lodging, and some retail and guest services.

The project, titled “COVID-19 Spring – When Pandemic Met Paradise,” is the brainchild of DePiero, who said she spent a great deal of time during shutdown riding her bike and taking photos. Before long she noticed other photographers were doing the same and the book idea was born. She contacted photographer/publicist Tedesco, a long-time friend with whom DePiero had published a previous photo-book, and the two applied for and received the $1000.00 Awesome Foundation grant, which was soon enhanced by additional donations from Bill and Linda Klipp, Harpoon Harry’s, Simone Lasswell, and Michael Blades and Kathy Kilroy, raising the kitty to $2500.00 of a minimum $3000.00 goal.

“We calculate that with $3000 we can print approximately 200, 8.5x11 high quality soft-cover books,” said DePiero, “which if sold for $49 each will raise nearly $10,000.00 for Sister Season Fund’s crucial outreach during COVID-19.”

“Leveraging the Foundation’s $1000 grant to benefit the community at large is exactly the kind of awesome idea our trustees love to support and fund,” said Awesome Foundation Key West ‘Dean’ Michael Shields. “At this time of critical community need we welcome and invite others with such awesome ideas to apply.”

Photographers contributing to the still-to-be-titled book are: Peter Arnow, Susan Bailey, Michael Blades, Lynne Bentley-Kemp, Joe and Ozlem Berg, Larry Blackburn, Kyle Campbell, Jeffrey Cardenas, Alyson Crean, Roberta DePiero, Ralph DePalma, Heather Dow Todd Feit, Tony Gregory, Connie Groth, Jay Hall, Mark Hedden, Martha Hubbard, Bill Klipp, Linda Klipp, Corey Malcom, Rob O’Neal, Steve Panariello, Carol Tedesco, and Sharon Wells.

With a forward written by local arts advocate Rosi Ware, the book is anticipated to be in print and available some time in August. Anyone wishing to contribute to the printing cost and/or wishing to place advance orders, please contact Roberta DePiero at robertadepiero@gmail.com. For more information about the Awesome Foundation Key West Chapter, visit awesomefoundationkeywest.org or contact Michael Shields at 305-394-3804.

ANNA SWEET EXHIBITION NOW AT EFFUSION ART GALLERY KW

EFFUSION GALLERY 701 Duval St.
305-735-4345 WWW.EFFUSION.COM

Anna Sweet’s work marries a craftsman’s approach to material with an Art Nouveau influence. Known for her luminous underwater nudes, Sweet portrays the ethereal through harmonious modes of painting and photography. By employing radiant minerals and pigments, the artist reimagines familiar elements of nature and the female form, rendering them brilliantly new to the viewer’s eye.
Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, above her mother’s art gallery, Sweet and her nine siblings were immersed in the art world from a young age. Perennially inspired by the light of the sun and the movement of the body, Sweet’s hand evokes the dynamic sensuality of beauty in motion, capturing transient moments of swim or dance.
Revealing the sensuality and elegance of women throughout the most exotic waters of the world. Sweet engages minerals like mica, diamond dust, and glass on the image, Sweet’s mixed-medium approach offers an otherworldly experience. Sweet’s work mimics elements of her shooting environments and creates “effects like the glisten that occurs when the sun kisses the sea.” The photographic images and encased materials coalesce into a stunning, seemingly three dimensional representation of the subject. The subjects in this series are radiant displays of female beauty.

Effusion Gallery is happy to offer two unique collections from artist Anna Sweet.

Anna's 'Babes' collection feature underwater photographs that reveal the sensuality and elegance of women throughout the most exotic waters of the world. All pieces are limited edition, available in multiple sizes and are enhanced with mineral and resin elements.

Inspired by real life beaches, her 'Waves' collection feature several mediums that come together creating an almost photorealistic view of the sea from above. Each piece is made by hand, customizable and one of a kind.

WWW.KWLS.ORG https://www.facebook.com/KeyWestLiterarySeminar 717 Love Lane , 33040. A Message from Arlo Haskell. 305-293-9291 mail@kwls.org

Dear Friends and Readers,

Our board of directors met last week and made the unanimous, sensible, and very sad decision to postpone "A Seminar Named Desire" for one year. It will now take place January 6–9, 2022. We are in the process of reconfirming the roster of presenters, and it appears that all will be able to join us for the new dates, along with others to be named later.

This will be the first January in nearly 40 years without the seminar. For me and for many of us here, it is the center around which the rest of the year turns. But it has become increasingly clear that it is not possible to hold the seminar during a pandemic, which, by all likelihood, will still be with us in January. It will be strange for the seminar not to be there — as so much about our lives is strange now.

As of now, the workshop program is still scheduled to take place in January. The smaller numbers of people involved leave us some room for optimism that it could be held safely come January, and we will continue to evaluate this over the next several weeks.

Thank you for your support of the Seminar during this time, and always,

Arlo Haskell | Executive Director
A Few Weeks ago Hugh Peche sent me a link to a Music Video . It was one of a Series of 'PLAYING FOR CHANGE" -Join The Movement". THESE ARE BRILLIANT VIDEOS . It takes Classic Rock Compositions and Insures that the Original Tune is well Respected in the Updated Rendition ; especially since every Video that is made will have the Lead Singer /Band Member/s Featured in the Production (If Still Around). The Production will Record many Musicians ALL OVER THE WORLD . Here are just 6 of perhaps 30 to 40 VIDEOS in their Catalog.

The roof used to be on the La Brisa building on the waterfront eons ago.

This looks like a  Carrie Disrud  sign to me.

Definitely a resident. So much to look at.
